Abstract: I tested for whether there is an association between Americans’ self-reported levels of life satisfaction and political interest since I was curious whether satisfied people tend to also be more interested in politics. When testing for this association, I controlled for gender and aggression level because, when I did my literature review, there were many sources stating that gender and personality are associated with political interest. I found that a person’s level of life satisfaction is significantly and positively associated with their interest in politics, even when controlling for level of aggression and gender.
